Our Creative and Branding team is growing and seeking an ideas-driven and adaptive In-House Copywriter who will draw on both creative and technical copywriting talents to become an integral team member. A dynamic role, one day you will be writing a script to showcase amazing engineering achievements for projects such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi or the Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta, on another you may be helping to profile key directors with stories of ground breaking technologies or extraordinary design achievements that impact entire cities.

You might explore marketing initiatives that use augmented or virtual reality to bring fresh perspectives to our work, as well as the standard suite of traditional and social media marketing tools.

What will you be doing?

  • Collaborating with our broad range of in-house graphic designers, illustrators, animators, art directors and videographers to create highly engaging concepts and copy.
  • Building content that genuinely articulates the exciting work BuroHappold engages with, doing more than simply translating technical jargon.
  • Use film, animation, high-end graphic design, illustration and any other medium and technique to get our messaging into the market place.
  • Work with the Digital Lead to drive social media, write tweets that achieve a high engagement rate and improve our Clout, Google and Alexa ratings.
  • Build positive relationships quickly to gain detailed understanding of projects and plans, confidently conversing and even interviewing partners, directors or specialist engineers.
  • Use narration for case studies and interactive brochures, scripts and storyboards for video presentations and animations interpreting and simplifying complex engineering concepts.
  • Writing succinct, punchy web copy and attention getting headlines with a marketing edge because you understand what motivates prospects to engage and take action

What will you bring?

  • Be a well-organised self-starter
  • Fluent, confident, engaging style and consistent tone of voice
  • Practiced in generating creative, stretching, but strategically sound concepts for marketing purposes across any medium.
  • Confident and comfortable dealing with senior leadership
  • Flexible working style with ability to work on numerous tasks simultaneously, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • A background in professional services, preferably consulting, engineering or architectural firms is highly desirable
