What is the role?

This is a newly crafted role to work closely with the Head of Communications and the Marketing and Business Development teams to design. develop and deliver a media relations programme to promote and protect BuroHappold across digital and traditional media channels.

We are looking for an well-networked, creative individual to step into this inaugural role with confidence and autonomy, an experienced professional who can seek out opportunities and join dots to harness and showcase our unique approach to engineering and the expertise of our characters; ultimately raising our profile.

What will you be doing?

Every day will be different but could include;

  • Owning and planning major PR and external communications, ensuring an integrated approach by liaising with Marketing and BD teams
  • Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key international and national media outlets; delivering positive external media coverage that drives the reputation of the business
  • Working strategically and creatively to leverage assets that have been developed such as notable projects, events, thought leadership and key personalities; 
  • Monitoring and reporting on the media coverage of the business and working with key stakeholders to enhance the reputation of the practice across key market segments
  • Attending relevant architectural and construction trade events to maintain our strong presence and report on events and opportunities
  • Advising senior practice leaders on media and public appearances; brief in person and attending events to support leaders 

What skills will you need?

Extensive industry-related experience, honed within the architectural, consulting engineering or construction sectors either in-house, or in a leading communications agency

Degree-level education or commensurate commercial experience, supported with CIPR qualification

The ability to think strategically and creatively to derive the maximum value from campaigns and assets

Confident, enthusiastic and passionate, you will be able to build and maintain a broad network of contacts
