One such engagement is the ongoing support we have been providing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where our engineers, amongst others, have been helping to implement elements of the country's ambitious vision by establishing and operating Programme Management Offices (PMOs).

We are now seeking to strengthen our team in Riyadh who are tasked with overseeing the delivery of multiple programmes of works from conceptualisation to implementation.

Our projects, programmes and portfolios vary in size, complexity and function and stretch from single buildings to infrastructure networks all the way to mega projects or entire city developments. What will I be doing?

  • Set up programme level governance ensuring an efficient programme and project level stage gate process is implemented.  This requires the ability to design appropriate stage gate review workflow (based on MSP or PMI for example) and the ability to get client buy-in to implement this workflow at programme board level.
  • Coordinate with other functional managers to ensure correct implementation of project control/business procedures
  • and requirements and have overall responsibility for project control/business activities.
  • Review and closely monitor project schedule and cost to ensure schedule and budget objectives are met.
  • Responsible for obtaining the necessary project control/business resources to plan and execute the work.
  • Implement quality assurance to ensure programmes and project comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Assist the systems team in defining requirements and implementing integrated reporting with good familiarity of analytics platforms and data integration.
  • Implement efficient change control across cost, contracts, schedule baseline and risk.  This will involve advising the client in setting up a change board with adequate delegation of authority at program and project level.
  • Prepare Bid proposal development and pricing packages.

What will I bring to the role?

  • We are looking for people with evidence of initiating controls functions from scratch at the pre-construction phase already instead of someone who just performs a niche role within an established project at the construction phase only.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science related industry
  • A minimum ten (10) years of experience with at least five (5) years working on mega projects with setup experience of controls functions such as risk, change control, scheduling and reporting.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of project control/business practices, Earned Value Analyses calculation methods/software, standards, procedures and specifications.
  • Analytics experience will be looked at favourably.  Analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBi, Power Query and data integration systems will form part of your integrated reporting remit.
  • You must understand the difference in applying controls at programme level versus merely project level as a programmatic mind-set is essential in ensuring we don’t manage projects in silo's.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to author and edit reports to a professional standard.
