Due to a continued growth in our current and pipeline workload, we are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to support the Leeds-based team.

What's the role?

Across an exciting range of projects in Yorkshire, the North West, Midlands and Scotland, you will provide development infrastructure design services to our Buildings group in a friendly and collaborative team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake detailed civil engineering design - including drainage, minor roads, site development, and earthworks. 
  • Prepare technical schedules 
  • Plan and manage documentation of design work 
  • Represent BuroHappold at meetings with clients and other project stakeholders
  • Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget 
  • Coordinating with other internal and external professionals to ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met 

What do I bring?

As an experienced civil engineer with a solid background within a consultancy environment, we expect that you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in a comparable civils/infrastructure design role, leading on projects or significant packages of work
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, AutoCAD and WinDes 
  • Strong drainage, external works and earthworks design experience and the ability to create innovative design solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects 
  • Confidence to work autonomously and make design decisions
  • Good communication skills honed through time collaborating with colleagues and external clients
  • Experience of working with contractors in Design & Build type roles
  • Professional registration (ideally CEng) with the Engineering Council UK or equivalent
