Our London Building Services (MEP) team is involved in a wide variety of challenging and exciting projects. With current projects including the Stratford Waterfront redevelopment, the new David Attenborough building at the University of Cambridge and KAFD Metro Station in Riyadh, BuroHappold's London Building Services team continues to deliver cutting edge design solutions which encourage the efficient use of materials, energy and natural resources. Our holistic, multidisciplinary design environment affords our engineers the freedom and creativity to push the boundaries of sustainable building technology across HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing disciplines in close collaboration with practice-wide specialist groups such as sustainability & physics, facades, lighting, and technology. 

A consistently buoyant pipeline of interesting projects has created the opportunity for a Senior Revit MEP Technician to join our close-kit Building Services team in central London. You will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of BIM technology within the industry, utilising advanced computational design software such as Dynamo to push the boundaries of 3D modelling technology. 

What will you be doing...

Input to the projects is likely to be varied but will include the requirement to:

  • Develop sketches and concepts into drawing details with a thorough understanding of the engineering practices behind them
  • Produce detailed, coordinated service models to high level of detail
  • Manage the outsourcing processes of mark ups and drawings and take responsibility for controlling the workflow and checking the quality of incoming work
  • Work closely with project teams to deliver high quality BIM projects to agreed deadlines, as well as managing other technicians to meet their deadlines 
  • Assist in the development of systems and procedures to ensure that the CAD system is used effectively
  • Provide guidance and advice to design Engineers on the planning and management of advanced Revit techniques
  • Prepare technical schedules
  • Assisting in the development of the BIM capability and the appropriate use of emerging modelling technology (e.g. Dynamo) of the building services team.

More about you...

As a capable and experienced Technician, we would expect you to be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Revit MEP and Construction information technology
  • Autocad trained
  • Capability of working independently and an experience of managing, mentoring or leading others
  • Experience and awareness of the following software/addins: Revit, Autocad, Navisworks
  • HNC, HND, or BEng in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
