About our team

BuroHappold’s acoustic team has a growing and enviable portfolio of fantastically exciting project work, including a significant proportion of work in the cultural, sports/leisure and higher education sectors, with some of the world’s best-known clients and architects.

Working worldwide for the likes of the BBC, Cirque du Soleil, Cambridge University, Premiership football clubs, the Natural History Museum, Facebook and Oxford University, we collaborate with our award-winning in-house structural and MEP teams as well as architects such as Foster & Partners, Allies & Morrison, Zaha Hadid, Wilkinson Eyre and FCB Studios.

What's the role?

Expansion of our thriving team has created an opportunity for a Technical Associate to join our London office.  This role would be ideal if you are an engineer with deep technical knowledge of building acoustics and noise control engineering, and are primarily interested in supervising and producing technically excellent project work.  Whilst some technical mentoring of less experienced team members would be required, this is not primarily a management role, and your focus would remain on expert technical project delivery, rather than business development, HR, admin or work winning.

What do I bring?

As a technical expert in the field of building acoustics engineering, we would expect you to have significant demonstrable experience across a variety of building sectors, and ideally hold both CEng and MIOA status.  Knowledge and expertise in our growth sectors is a requirement, as is experience in PAVA design.

Why join BuroHappold?

You would be joining a bright, developing team within a socially responsible, award winning, progressive multi-disciplinary practice. We are keen to offer a role for a technical expert to continue to deliver excellent projects without the additional responsibilities that are usually expected at this level. We have fun working on truly interesting projects, and don’t take ourselves too seriously - come and get involved!!
