Reporting directly to the UK Director, you will be given overall responsibility for ensuring that there is consistency in the UK in relation to HS&E and UK support teams to improve the successful and effective running of the offices in the UK. Working with key stakeholders across the UK, you will ensure the office support teams are providing a consistent service and also provide HS&E leadership and communication to all office HS&E coordinators in the UK.

What's the role?

This position will call on you to:

  • Ensure that the UK business is compliant with business requirements such as CSCS cards and induction training as well as HS&E legislation and applicable ISO certifications and audits (including ISO 14001, 9001 and OSHAS 18001)
  • Maintain an active role within the Crisis Management Team and supporting the offices with their business continuity and incident response teams.

  • Conduct regular meetings with the Office Managers in order to discuss and plan the effective running of the Support and Facilities teams in the UK.
  • Chair the charities committee and ensure that other initiatives such as sports and social teams, YEF and office councils are fully supported
  • Support design initiatives such as the Director Design Reviews and Regional Discipline Reviews
  • ...and of course much more in this varied and engaging position

Based in either London or Bath, this role is initially offered as a fixed term contract covering maternity leave. We are anticipating a 10-month initial term including a robust handover period.

What do I bring?

As an experienced HS&E and Operations professional, we would expect you to demonstrate:

  • IOSH managing safely/NEBOSH General Certificate or similar qualifications, as well as experience of compliance including ISO accreditation
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to negotiate, influence and guide key stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive and confident nature with the ability to take the lead and act decisively
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise, delegate and coordinate projects to successful and timely outcomes
  • A good working knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations is desirable, as is an IOSH qualification or willingness to undertake
